Girl Scouts of Central Indiana Day Camp

Day Camp…is an experience for girls from different troops and groups to meet outdoors each day. Girls attend as individual campers and are placed in units according to their grade in the fall. Attend day camp and make new friends!

At day camp you’ll try new craft projects, sing, discover the wonders of the outdoors and how to live with nature, play games, experiment with science, math, and technology, make new friends, make lasting memories, and for one night, your whole group will remain in camp together.

Day camp is for all girls completing kindergarten through 7th grade. Girl Scouts from other councils, as well as non-members, are welcome to attend day camp.

There are day camp aide opportunities for girls entering grades 8 through 12. A day camp aide assists the adults in leading a unit of girls at camp.

Volunteers make up most of the day camp staff. Positions that are held by volunteers include directors, assistant directors, craft leaders, unit leaders, and assistant unit leaders. Won’t you please consider becoming a volunteer this summer?

Day camp day begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. All campers will have the opportunity to spend one night (Thursday) at camp. On the overnight, girls will sleep in a tent/cabin with other girls. Adults will have separate sleeping quarters.

Day camp is offered at three camps this year beginning on June 7 and ending on July 30. Parents may provide transportation or take advantage of the bus transportation (Dellwood only) offered. Child care before and after hours is not provided.

Day camp unit for girls with disabilities

Camp Dellwood Girls, regardless of their ability, may attend the session of their choice at day camp. During Session # 5 at Camp Dellwood, July 12-16, there will be a unit for girls with special needs. Girls wishing to attend this session are welcome. The staff in this unit will be volunteers who are trained to work with a variety of special needs. The girls in the unit will have access to all camp activities.

At Girl Scout day camp the choice is yours. Complete the Day Camp Individual Registration Form and indicate your preference. Transportation will only be provided according to the 2010 Dellwood day camp bus transportation schedule. If you need an accessible bus at one of these stops, indicate it on your registration form.
